Edelweiss Wood Flooring was born in Switzerland in 1995 as a dream of Reto & Marie Gamweger. Reto was a trained furniture maker and Marie an American transplant in Zurich. They discovered wide plank engineered flooring in Europe and they saw an opportunity to introduce it in the United States where solid “sand and finish” wood flooring was used exclusively. We consider ourselves pioneers in engineered flooring and discovered flooring manufacturers that use the most advanced technologies to produce floors that are both high quality and beautiful.
